MacBook Air M1 (2020) was with last 26.2 update. 26.3 can not be installed – some stupid error that I find in internet can be because of internet, ssd or memory. None of this have problem. Tryed all variants of installation, last was from usb flash with erase of hard drive and after that end with no os installed, boot only in recovery lol. After that old version (Sequoia) can not be installed too. Button to analyze hard for errors told that partition was created with newer version of program and this is suspected cause to not install older version of OS. Erased drive after that two times until this newer version disappear. Looks like that try to install Sequoia replaced recovery with older version of disk utility and this helps to install older OS without problem. Finally after some hours I have working laptop again. I thought that it is bricked forever…

I don’t know what is wrong with 26.3 but I will not try to install it again, maybe will wait next 1-2 versions lol

Generally the best(easiest) way to update is through System Settings > General > Software Update
