Sheffield Steelers leapfrogged the Cardiff Devils into second place with a 5-1 thrashing at the Utilita Arena on Sunday.
The Steelers started on the front foot and took an early lead through Finnish forward Mikko Juusola.
The game got away from the Devils in the middle period, as Juusola scored his second of the contest before goals from Robert Dowd and Mitchell Balmas put the hosts four goals up.
Kohen Olischefski pulled one back for Cardiff midway through the third period before Jordon Southorn added shine to Sheffield's win.
Victory sees the Steelers climb above the Devils into second place in the Elite League standings.
The Devils fall the third, and will drop to fourth if Nottingham Panthers can beat Guildford Flames later on Sunday.
